Portraits of Punk is and ongoing interview series by Mario Moretto about what subculture means to the people who are a part of it. With this project, I hope to answer questions such as:
- What does it mean to be ‘punk’?
- How do people come to punk, and why do they stay involved?
- How does being punk in one’s early years shape who punks become later in life? What makes people stay involved or drift away from the subculture?
- Is there such a thing as a ‘poser’?
- How many pyramid studs can you fit on a leather jacket?
- And more.
Most importantly, I hope these interviews are interesting and fun for the readers and the people being interviewed.
For more background about my involvement with punk and why I’m conducting these interviews, check out this introductory post.
If you think your or someone you know would make for a good interview, feel free to contact me via email or just leave a message in the comments. Thanks for reading!
